Cheaper Cleaner Water

There are TWO water rates and grades of water for Millcreek residences and businesses, depending on where they are located in Millcreek. The Millcreek Water Authority buys water from Erie Water Works, blends it with well water in certain areas, then sells it at rates that are up to 70% higher than the rates paid by Millcreek residences and businesses who are direct Erie Water Works customers. There are approximately 16,000 Millcreek residences and businesses that consume water. 6,000 pay the higher Millcreek Township Water Authority rate, and 10,000 pay the lower rate.

Over the last five years, nearly 7,000 Millcreek Township Water Authority customers would have saved $7,746,043.86 had they been afforded the opportunity to be included with the other 10,000 Millcreek Township residents who are direct Erie Water Works customers.
